A tray on a terrace table at Ghancha

01 · The name

Two meanings, one table

Ghancha carries two meanings, and we live where they meet. In the Gulf dialect, Ghancha is a dining utensil, the spoon. And the Ghancha was also the great carved dhow that carried Bahrain's pearls, spices and songs across the water and home again.

02 · The memory

THE GOLDEN ERA

Inspired by Bahrain's Golden Era of the 60s and 70s, Ghancha brings the architecture, music and food celebrated back then together under one roof. The gypsum arches, the oud on the wall, the brass and carved wood — these are not decoration but memory, plated fresh for today.
